Reaching the Top Spot on its Anniversary: Villa Grisebach Celebrates Record Annual Sales of 55.4 million Euro

In the 25th year of its founding the Berlin-based auction house Villa Grisebach recorded its highest annual sales ever: 55.4 million Euro. This makes Villa Grisebach the highest-grossing auction house in Germany in 2011.
Highlights of the anniversary year were the sale of the corporate art collection of Karstadt and the estate of the Rhineland-based fashion czar and collector Dolf Selbach. In 2011, Villa Grisebach once again sold numerous lots above the million Euro threshhold. Moreover, the company successfully established a separate sale of Art of the 19th Century.
